The Rabble - Carry On

The Rabble - Carry On

This week I would like to expose you to another Punk band from down under. The Rabble are from Auckland, New Zealand. The band was formed by brothers Chazz and Rupe. Those two along with Jamie (all using the surname Rabble) make up The Rabble. The track "Carry On" comes from the album The New Generation, which was release August 2008.

I am a big fan of The Rabble. I happened to come across them a couple months ago on YouTube (I am appreciative of the YouTube recommendations). They have four albums starting in 2006 and going through 2011. These are definitely not one hit wonder albums either. Each album is great, with a bunch a fantastic Punk songs. Check out this song and check out this band.

The song "Carry On" reminds of tracks by The Dropkick Murphy's. It is a little slower Punk song but it is great. Another one of those songs the arena would sing along with. Kind of a love song with good message: Life gets hard but we will to Carry On.

THE RABBLE LYRICS

"Carry On"

You'll never know what you've done for me
Through the days and nights together care free.
I long for the day that I make you my own
And I cherish the times that we spent in our home.
I love you my girl, yer heart and yer soul,
So thankful you've dragged me right out of this hole.
Punk rock princess forever I'll spend,
Each penny on you my true friend, yeah.

And I know - And I know
Life gets harder as you will discover but,
Carry on - Carry On

For you I would look the devil in the face
And I'd search ten times over for amazing grace.
I don't have much money, but I do have the time,
To spend with you baby, till the day that I die.

Well most days are good yeah, but some might be bad.
And together they both will conquer this land.
I've said and thought it and know that it's true,
That girl was made just for you!

[Chorus]

Carry on, carry on, carry on

[Chorus]

Topnovil - The Crew

For the first song I would like share is Topnovil's "The Crew". Topnovil is a Punk band from Wollongong, Australia. Topnovil started in 1997. "The Crew" comes off of of Topnovil's 2011 Album Same Old Story.
Coming from Salt Lake City, the radio options are limited. I would never come across a great song like this from an Aussie band listening to the terrestrial radio options in Utah. I do listen to satellite radio, Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg, but I did not here this song there either. I came across this band/song based on a YouTube recommendation. I hope to share this great song with Punks and Punk lovers who may not have heard this song.
The lyrics talk about being apart of the Punk Rock scene, being with your friends, being united, being a Punk, standing up for what you believe in the face of adversity. It is an anthem to the Punk Rock lifestyle. It is a catchy tune and I love the group vocals. Every great thing you want in a Punk song. I find myself singing out loud every time I hear it. Click on the YouTube video below to hear the song. Enjoy!

What This Blog is About

I know there are millions of blogs out there to occupy your your limited amount of reading time. This blog is my way of giving back to all of the great music I have come across, which the masses may have missed.
Each week I plan to post a song and information about the band. I am very passionate the about music, especially Punk. The lifestyle and meaning behind the bands and songs stand for something. I don't believe the music I will be posting gets its due in society now because it is not filled with samples of other songs and does not fit into the mold of what is popular.
Be apart of the revolution and I hope you enjoy these songs and bands as much as I have. If you get a chance check out Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg on satellite radio, channel 28 (Faction). It is on Wednesday nights and replays on Saturday afternoons. Best three hours of radio each week.
